Compassion without empathy...
doesn't really achieve much.
Sure, it’s great to know that there are people out there that care. And I know you want to help, but unless you can truly experience the problem as I do your efforts are most likely going to be wasted.
That’s why we have government initiatives that try to tackle a problem but fall short, costing much wasted time, money and effort.
Or that product that tries to solve a problem but is too complicated to use, too expensive and made of the wrong materials.
Or the doctor that thinks your might be over-exaggerating.
If ever you’ve heard: “His heart was in the right place”, or “She meant well...” then you know what’s just happened.
Genuine compassion with empathy? It’s a winning combo. It gets shit done.
